I’m Charles Bruce McIntyre.

Hi. I wrote a memoir titled There Are No Answers Here, Only Questions. It is the true story of two life-altering events and the personal transformation that resulted from their unlikely collision. It’s the story of an owner preparing to sell his business and retire just as he is diagnosed with cancer. I’m following that book with, Taking the Long Way Home. It chronicles my post-treatment life, including my decision to regain strength by training for and competing in a triathlon until a near-fatal bicycle crash forces me to find more leasury retirement hobbies on my journey to peace of mind in retirement.

Taking the Long Way Home

Making a comeback often requires several comebacks. This book details my post cancer treatment life and my journey into retirement.

Part One discusses my quest to revitalize my life following cancer treatments, including training for and participating in triathlons.

Part Two takes you on a tour with my wife and I as we explore the world together in such places as the Holy Land to Machu Picchu to better understand and appreciate the world around us.

Part Three covers the process and challenges of the making the decision and moving to a continuous care retirement community and my life afterward.

It’s a story of continual growth, advancement, finding serenity.
